Kate Middleton’s photoshop scandal has put a magnifying glass on other “official photos” taken by the Princess of Wales, and now Getty Images has gone ahead and revealed that a second royal portrait was manipulated.
The photo in question features Queen Elizabeth II with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren at Balmoral and was also taken by Kate. Getty Images reviewed the photo and revealed it was “digitally enhanced,” saying in a statement to The Telegraph, “Getty Images has reviewed the image in question and placed an editor’s note on it, stating that the image has been digitally enhanced at source.”
As The Telegraph notes, there are several pretty glaring editing errors in the photo—including misalignment on the Queen’s tartan skirt and “signs of digital repetition in Mia Tindall’s hair.”
This comes amid Kate issuing a public apology for editing her Mother’s Day photo, saying, “Like many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing. I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photograph we shared yesterday caused. I hope everyone celebrating had a very happy Mother’s Day. C”
As a reminder, multiple photo agencies pulled the photo of Kate due to how heavily photoshopped it was, while the AP’s “kill notification” read “clients, please be advised that the following story has been killed and should no longer be used.” They also noted that “AT CLOSER INSPECTION, IT APPEARS THAT THE SOURCE HAS MANIPULATED THE IMAGE.”
